Martin Pearce

Martin Pearce, former Director at Focus Travel Partnership, is spearheading a new business development project for Focus Travel Partnership, the leading business travel consortium for the SME sector.

Abby Penston, CEO of Focus Travel Partnership said: “I’m thrilled Martin will be working with us. He provides a wealth of experience and entrepreneurial drive.

“Unlike the leisure sector, business travel has at least been able to function during the later lockdowns, but inevitably, we have already seen some consolidation in our sector. Martin will be an instrumental addition to the Focus team as we reshape and lead the sector out of the worst crisis the travel industry has ever encountered.

“Focus Travel Partner TMCs have shown remarkable resilience and proved how valuable their skills of navigating through a complex travel landscape have been for their clients.”

Focus Travel Partnership has the collective buying power of 50 TMCs, providing access to the best deals in the business travel arena to include exclusive nett fares for Focus Travel Partners and access to  NDC and GDS deals as well as state-of-the-art technology programmes.

In the first 12 weeks of the pandemic each Focus Travel Partner received £20,000 of management consultancy services.

Focus Travel Partnership provides business support with HR, accountancy and legal services; operational support in terms of training, an extranet and weekly updates on industry issues. Partners also benefit from being part of a community that belongs to the Federation of Small Businesses and the Business Travel Association and provides excellent networking opportunities through Focus events, which have been held online.

Martin Pearce said: “The pandemic has affected all of us in many different ways and we have all been through this together. We need to move forward and  strengthen the partnership with new members who meet the Focus ethos and have the desire to be a part of this amazing group. I am delighted and proud to be back working alongside my friends and former colleagues at Focus to achieve this aim.”
