To celebrate her five incredible years of success and growth with Focus Travel Partnership, we managed to grab a quick catch-up with Dani Ives, Focus Commercial Manager, for a fast paced Q&A.

What has been your most memorable moment over the last five years with Focus

There have been so many at Focus. The events are always so memorable for me and the hours of work and dedication that get put into every single element is the main reason that they are so memorable. The Crystal maze was one of my personal favourites, I won’t ever forget seeing so many excited faces as they realised what they were doing and that they were living their childhood TV dreams.

Where do you see Focus in the next five years

Focus is only heading in one direction and that’s up. We’ve got exciting plans this year and we are also looking to recruit to help our small but mighty team.

What is your top productivity hack

A to-do list, even if it has to be re-written. I need one to keep focussed and on track.

How do you inspire your team

I empower them to do their role to the best of their ability. I am always here if they need support and we have a weekly catch-up to ensure they’re on track, but otherwise they’re left to manage their own time and workloads.

What is your go-to strategy for managing varied tasks

My outlook diary- it has my whole life in it. I’d be lost without it.

What motivates you

The Focus TMC’s. If you spend time with any of our TMC’s you will see an amazing organisation that provides great service and works really hard at it. Every single agency is unique creating an even more special environment. Also the Focus central team, honestly the team are central to the partnership and are all fantastic in their roles and so supportive of each other. We are working towards a common goal and everyone pitches in- it’s a very special place.

Window or Aisle

The answer is both, if you know you know.

Windows or Apple

Always Apple.

Favourite Airport

Koh Samui is the cutest little airport ever. But otherwise it has to be London City, its my closest airport and you can get through in 15 minutes.

What has changed most in our industry in the last five years

Technology without doubt. There isn’t an area where Tech isn’t involved now and it will only start to move faster over the coming years.

And, your strangest moment at Focus

Haha it happened only last year actually on a trip. Jo our Marketing & Events Manager and I were away on an events visit and decided to go for a walk to explore the venue’s outdoor space when we climbed up some steep stairs to find a lone man in his pants taking in the view!.. Being thankful for the pants at least we quickly headed back to the safety of the bar.
